A foggy scene. Strange objects. And a puzzle that only makes sense when you notice tiny details. In Spooky Links, you connect matching spooky items and uncover what the board is trying to hide. What you do in the game This is a linking puzzle. You clear the board by linking spooky objects that belong together (often matching pairs). The trick is that links usually must follow certain rules, like having a clear path. Core loop: Scan the board for matching items. Link a pair that can connect. The board changes as pieces disappear. Repeat until the board is cleared. Real player moment: you spot two matching objects immediately… but the game won’t let you link them because the path is blocked. Controls Desktop Click one object, then click its matching partner. Mobile Not recommended if the game isn’t optimized for touch, but tapping may work. How you win / progress Clear all objects to finish the level. Levels get harder by adding more pieces and tighter blocking patterns. Linking rules (the key skill) The game wants you to look closely. That usually means: Pairs must match. A path between them must be open (no blocking objects). Some paths may require specific turns. Even without knowing the exact path rule, the best strategy is: open space first. Tips to play better (12 tips) Clear the outer edges first. Edge pieces usually have more open paths. Don’t waste time on blocked pairs. If it can’t link now, make space first. Look for “free pairs”—pairs that are already exposed. Work top-down or left-right. A consistent scan pattern helps you miss fewer matches. Use matches to create more matches. Removing one pair can unlock three new links. If the board is crowded, focus on one area instead of jumping around. Save tricky matches for later when the board is more open. If a pair looks close but won’t link, it’s probably blocked by one piece. Find and remove that blocker. Watch for look-alike objects. Some spooky items can be similar—double-check the details. If you keep getting stuck, you cleared in the wrong order. Try clearing edges and corners sooner. Coach voice: Clear space. Then connect. Tiny human tip: If you’re stuck for more than 15 seconds, stop hunting randomly and scan the edges again—new pairs often appear there first. Levels / modes / progression Expect: More object types, More crowded boards, More “fake easy” pairs that are blocked until you clear the right pieces. Common problems & quick fixes Links won’t work: the path is blocked—clear pieces around it first. Mis-clicks: click slowly; similar objects can trick you. Lag: close other tabs and refresh. No sound: check volume (many puzzles are quiet). Fullscreen makes items hard to see: windowed mode can be sharper for small details. Parent note (2–3 lines) Spooky Links supports visual matching and planning the best order. Great calm puzzle play. Suggest a break after 3 levels. Quick Info box Platform: Browser (HTML5) Genre: Matching / linking puzzle (spooky theme) Age fit: 7–13 Session length: 6–15 minutes Controls: Click/tap to select and link pairs FAQ (6) Q1: What’s the goal in Spooky Links? A: Link matching spooky objects to clear the whole board. Q2: Why can’t I link two matching items? A: The path between them is blocked. Clear other pieces to open space. Q3: What should I clear first? A: Start with edges and any pairs that are already free. Q4: Is it timed? A: Many linking puzzles aren’t timed, but some have gentle timers. Either way, order matters most. Q5: How do I avoid getting stuck? A: Don’t clear only one object type. Keep the board balanced and open. Q6: Is it scary? A: It’s spooky-themed but still a puzzle—no gore.
